Somebody wake up Bob Salmi; the Sixers losing streak is over.
Samuel Dalembert had 15 points and 12 rebounds to go with 5 blocked shots as the Sixers picked up a key win over divisional rival New Jersey 108 - 99. The win kept the Sixers in the 7th position of the Eastern Conference, and they are within 1/2 game of overtaking Washington for the 5th spot.
While Dalembert was dominating the paint (in truth, the Nets don't have a center of significance), Lou Williams was busy driving a dagger into the hearts reminiscent of the way AI used to do it in the late going of games. Williams hit a 3 to give the Sixers some late breathing room at 96 - 91 with about 3 1/2 minutes to play. At that point in the game, the Nets were surging and had pulled within two points.
Williams then went on to sink two more key buckets to more of less keep the Nets at arms length.
The Nets did not help their own cause in the game, shooting 7 of 21 from 3-point land. Whether these shots came off of set plays or simply not wanting to work for offense, the Nets' lack of ability to get to the basket showed in the fact that they didn't shoot a single free throw in the first half and shot only 13 for the game. On their home court. That seems almost impossible, really.

Other Sixers Stuff
- From a link that BigLead.com carried this AM: Apparently, porn star Mary Carey likes her some Sixers. She was apparently getting close to an unnamed Sixer recently when the team visited New York recently. Don't know who it was, but I'm guessing it wasn't Kevin Ollie.
- Mary Carey isn't the only Sixer fan right now....True Hoop did a nice piece on the Sixers on Monday.

My guess? Rodney Carney. He's been playing lately like a man with the extra jump in your step that only porn star poon can give you.
At least that's what my friends tell me.
